It’s a fascinating question and one that should scare the American people to the point of outrage and polling-place revolution. Lies, distortion, omission and character assignation are what lay ahead in the 11 months before the November elections.
The examples ICE News could list are many. For this article, we will document two.
#1, Omission:
Obama Golfing Buddy Arrested in Prostitution Sting
The upcoming presidential campaign looks like it will be one of the dirtiest in history. Obama is fully aware, to no one’s surprise, that his cronies in the mainstream media will be watching his back; Several stories ran. recently on the Obamas’ multi-million dollar, tax-funded vacation toHawaii. Few, however, reported on Obama’s cozy relationship with an old friend who was recently arrested in prostitution-sting. Surprise, surpeise!
The online website Newsbusters relates,
President Obama has played at least two rounds of golf in Hawaii with a high school buddy, Robert “Bobby” Titcomb, who was arrested as part of a prostitution sting, after he allegedly approached an undercover police officer for sex in downtown Hawaii.
“What seems particularly interesting here isn’t that President Obama would still hang out with a friend who had been arrested; it’s how many media outlets have either made no reference to Titcomb’s arrest, or simply stated it in passing,” he wrote. “Both The New York Times and The Washington Post briefly made a note of Titcomb’s past in reporting the vacation stories. In this day and age of ‘gotcha!’ controversy-driven political coverage, is it surprising not to see more of a big deal being made?”
Obama’s choice of friends has raised eyebrows since his days as a state and theU.S.senator: anarchist and bomb thrower Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, anarchist Van Jones, to name just a few.
And maybe even more surprising, there doesn’t seem to be a purely political divide within the media. FoxNews.com, for example, in a story about Obama’s golfing on Christmas Eve, didn’t even mention Titcomb’s arrest when reporting on his participation.
It was a British paper, The Daily Mail, that made the biggest deal out of Titcomb’s inclusion, blasting it across its headline: “A five-course meal at Honolulu’s priciest restaurant after golf with his hooker-loving buddy… Obama faces another tough day in Hawaii.”
Not one word on network news. Almost nothing on talk radio. The Sunday morning news programs ignored it.
Can you imagine the headlines if it were George W. Bush!
#2, Character Assignation:
Alan Colmes Accuses Rick Santorum of “Playing With” His Son’s Corpse
Liberal commentator Alan Colmes reached new levels of low January 3
during a Fox News segment in which he and Rich Lowry of National Review discussed Rick Santorum ’s surge in theIowa polls.
Colmes said the Santorum surge wouldn’t last once the people “get a load of some of the crazy things he’s (Santorum) said and done, like taking his two-hour-old baby when it died right after childbirth home and played with it so that his other children would know that the child was real.”
Thankfully, Lowry stepped up and tore Colmes to pieces without hesitation.
What actually happened, for the benefit of anyone gullible enough to believe Alan Colmes’ warped and hateful fantasies as the final word, is that Santorum’s son Gabriel had a fatal defect detected early in the pregnancy. Rick and his wife Karen wanted to bring Gabriel into the world despite the towering odds against him, but Karen developed a potentially fatal intrauterine infection. Birth was induced prematurely, and Gabriel only survived outside the womb for a couple of hours.
The Santorums slept all night in the hospital with Gabriel, then took him home so that his brothers and sisters could meet him. The bond between the family and their lost child became the subject of a deeply personal book, Letters to Gabriel, authored by Karen Santorum. Mother Teresa wrote the forward. Obviously, Alan Colmes didn not read it, instead he accepted garbage from far-left blogs.
The confrontation between Colmes and Lowry is an example of liberal “tolerance.” Colmes whines endlessly about the supposed closed-mindedness of conservatives, but ten seconds in to a discussion about Santorum’s electoral prospects, he drags out the tragic death of Gabriel Santorum – which happened in 1996.
Is this the message the Left is going to label Santorum with? That he is the most deranged of anti-abortion religious extremists. If he becomes President, maybe you’ll all be forced to bring your dead children home from the hospital?
Class, real class. But what more can we expect from the ultra-left media and their defense of their “Messiah.”
